January 15th - Dr. MLK Birthday Celebration!
1-3 PM - BCLC Ballroom
Rhodes is celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through a special birthday party on January15th. Rhodes students will lead the party with a variety of booths featuring crafts, games, and trivia related to Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. Elementary students in the area are invited to this event along with their families for the educational and fun event!
January 15th - An Intimate Conversation with Van Jones

Vna Jones will have an intimate conversation with Rhodes student and faculty about his success at combining his passion for environmental justice with effective public policy. Mr. Jones has served as the Green Jobs Administrator under the Obama administration, and is a co-founder of three successful non-profit organizations: the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change and Green For All. Van Jones is a globally recognized, award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean-energy economy, and is the best-selling author of the definitive book on green jobs: The Green-Collor Economy.

January 17th - Service Plunge
Please sign up for various volunteer sites by stopping by the Bonner Center for Faith and Service or contact Emily Wheelwright at wheelwrighte@rhodes.edu. Students will meet at 9 a.m. to sign a nonviolence pledge and embark to various sites throughout Memphis.
January 18th - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: An Evening of Reflection
4PM - BCLC (Free and open to the public)
This program will feature a variety of responses to Dr. King’s legacy by Rhodes students, as well as from our MCS partner schools: Snowden, Springdale and Cypress.
